Summer has made its annual exit here at IIABNY headquarters. This means the rapidly approaching end to the golf season, and that's too bad, because my game really improved this year. I don't mean to brag, but the last time I played I came this close to hitting the ball on the fairway and my 15 year-old son only rolled his eyes at me on five of the nine holes we played. Yes, my friends, this has been a summer of personal growth.
The new episode of Ask Tim finds me on the green going for a quintuple bogie (yeah, I wear a jacket and tie when I golf -- you got a problem with that?) While I let a few foursomes play through, I discussed how auto and homeowners insurance apply to golf carts.

The Homeowners policy does not cover a motor vehicle used for business except for a motorized golf cart being used on a golf facility
-
Homeowners policy covers personal golf carts while being used, stored or parked at a golfing facility
-
It also covers personal golf carts used at a private residential community where golf carts can legally travel on public roads, if the community is under the authority of a property owners' association and the insured has a residence there.
-
The Personal Auto Policy does not provide liability coverage for vehicles designed for use off public roads, but it does cover non-owned golf carts.
